Making Audio Messes in the Creative Sandbox!

I took a looping workshop years ago at Jazz Camp West, and have wanted a looper ever since. The possibilities of layering my own voice, to create a full vocal orchestra all by myself… Well, it just made my toes tingle!

For some reason, I thought looping required expensive equipment, so I shelved the idea while I saved up.

Then I discovered the Loopy HD app… For $3.99 (it was on sale for 50% off its usual $7.99 price tag), I started looping on my iPhone that very day!

I share my messy looping experiments right here and over on SoundCloud, where you can follow me to get my latest loops.

Warning: If you like “pretty” sounds, this one may not be for you! It is VERY experimental and “out there.”

That said, I had a ton of fun making it. 🙂 And if you like avant garde music or Free Jazz, it could just be up your alley.

(Personally, I used to just roll my eyes at that music. I didn’t understand it, and didn’t like it one bit! Thanks largely to the opportunity to study with Art Lande at Jazz Camp West for several summer, where I got to make that kind of music, however, I’ve grown to appreciate it, understand it better, and really love it!)
