At the end of 2011, I managed to score four hours of free studio time, so I grabbed my ukulele and recorded these tracks. Just me and my ukulele. Stripped down. Bare. Hence the tongue-in-cheek title, "the naked sessions."

I have visions of a more fully fleshed-out (ahem) album, with more tracks, and more instrumentation, but in the meantime, here's me, unplugged (if not technically undressed), intimate, cosy. Pretty much the way I'd sound if you were to hire me for a private concert. (And yes, I am available for house concerts, but only when all parties are fully clothed.)

Back in 2014 I started playing around with looping, using Loopy app and an iPad Air. My goal at the time was to be able to perform and improvise with the looper, live, as a "one woman band," a goal I accomplished in 2015 on my Living Room Tour. The tracks below are a few of the hundreds of experiments I've performed with vocal looping.

In a case of art inspiring art, I created this vocal (and ukulele) looping experiment on September 19, 2014, inspired by a tiny calligraphic painting I'd made — an "artspark" — back in May of 2011.

For over a year, I had a practice of spending at least 15 minutes a day creating art. These calligraphic "artsparks" were the result. I used to send an email newsletter out Monday through Friday with these little artworks.

A few years later, the artwork inspired my vocal loops!
